For more than three decades now, the Raue name has stood for exceptional competence where the laws governing intellectual property are concerned. For our clients, having the ability to dispose over their works is as fundamental a right as it is a demanding one: The digital world is constantly changing, and where the protection of the rights of authors or artists is concerned, their economic freedom and that of the collecting societies representing them is also at stake. And protecting intellectual property is a demanding task in legal terms not only as a consequence of rapidly evolving technology and the provisions made in the digital world that, thus far, have failed to achieve their intended purpose. It is also a challenge because typically, these cases will entail ties among the various fields of the law that are so close as to be inseparable. We are in a position to deal with this as our practice has comprehensive experience in all of the relevant fields: Copyright law, the laws governing unfair competition and anti-trust law, as well as trademark law and patent law.

We advise our clients on questions of strategy, represent them in cases of conflict, and lend support in the course of legislative procedures, both in Germany and at the European level. Moreover, our practice is characterized by a strong commitment to promoting scholarly work on the protection of intellectual property in academia, as evidenced by our publications, lectures, and lecturing activities.
