The business law firm Raue is awarding the Peter Raue Prize 2024 to Rollenfang, an initiative for inclusion in film and television of professional actors and actresses with disabilities.
The Peter Raue Prize, endowed with 10,000 euros, supports individuals or institutions that are exemplary for their social, civic or cultural commitment and use the prize money for this commitment.
‘The partnership honours Rollenfang for its civic, social and cultural commitment to actors and actresses with disabilities,’ explains Markus Plesser, Managing Partner at Raue. Rollenfang also wants to present an authentic and diverse image of our society in the media. ‘In this way, Rollenfang ideally fulfils the promotional concept of the Peter Raue Award, ’ adds Markus Plesser.
With the Peter Raue Prize, the law firm is taking up the values that characterise the name-giving partner Peter Raue. The naming of the prize honours Peter Raue’s outstanding and exemplary work as a citizen of the city of Berlin, as a lawyer and as a promoter of the arts and the common good. Last year’s winner of the Peter Raue Prize was apropolis, an initiative for educational commitment for young people.
Also among the finalists are Aid Pioneers, a non-profit organisation from Berlin that aims to make development cooperation more effective, and the Radikale Töchter, initiative, which uses playful methods to motivate teenagers and young adults to participate in politics. Raue is also supporting these two projects with 2,500 euros each as special recognition.
The partners select the annual award winner from three candidates. A five-member Peter Raue Prize Committee, made up of a cross-section of the firm’s employees, is responsible for the pre-selection. The candidates for the Peter Raue Prize were nominated by law firm employees as well as external individuals and institutions.
The Peter Raue Prize 2024 will be presented to the Rollenfang team on 8 November 2024 at 2 pm in the offices of our law firm. We cordially invite members of the press to attend. Registration is requested.
