PRO BONO: RAUE Advises SILBERNETZ E.V.

Raue advised Silbernetz e.V. (Silvernetwork) on the protection of the wordmarks “Silbernetz”, “Silbertelefon” and “Silberinfo” as well as the organization’s figurative mark as part of its pro bono engagement. In addition, Silbernetz e.V. also relied on Raue when it was founded as a non-profit limited liability company. Raue provided pro bono advice to Silbernetz e.V. on trademark and data protection law.

Silbernetz is a non-profit organization that offers people aged 60 and over a contact point with the “Silvertelephone” to help them find their way out of loneliness and isolation. By contacting people anonymously by telephone, helping them to reconnect personally and networking with other older people in their immediate neighborhood, the organizers have helped thousands of people out of loneliness, first in the Berlin area and then nationwide. For her commitment, Silbernetz founder Elke Schilling was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Berlin on October 1, 2020.

Raue encourages its partners and associates to use their skills for the common good and to help individuals in particular need of assistance, also without remuneration. Our professional attitude as attorneys is underpinned by our willingness to give back to our communities, and we foster the pro-bono activities our attorneys pursue. Raue is a founding member of Pro Bono Deutschland e.V., the first German association of leading corporate law firms promoting pro bono legal advice and encouraging attorneys to volunteer their services.
