Berlin FinTech startup NUMBER26 GmbH has raised 40 million US dollars in a Series B financing round led by Horizons Ventures. Raue LLP advised Earlybird Ventures, one of the investors.
NUMBER26 has quickly emerged as a leading player in mobile banking. The company has acquired more than 200.000 customers across 8 European markets since its January 2015 launch. The Series B funding will help accelerate additional geographic expansion and the integration of new products like savings, investment and credit to create a true FinTech platform.
NUMBER26 offers the bank account of the future, geared especially towards the needs of smartphone users. Customers can look at account movements anytime and carry out transactions. NUMBER26 works with a German partner bank. Opening a new bank account takes only eight minutes and can be completed directly on the smartphone.
