Raue LLP Advises on Financing Round of AI-Company TwentyBN

Raue LLP advises the investor on a USD 2.5m seed investment in Twenty Billion Neurons GmbH (TwentyBN). TwentyBN builds central system intelligence to make artificial intelligence (AI) in the form of deep learning easily accessible to industries and companies of all sizes. According to its own statements, TwentyBN is the first Germany based deep learning company.

Deep learning has emerged as the most effective approach by far to the creation of systems that solve real-world problems using AI. Deep learning systems are inspired by the neural networks in the human brain, and they have an innate ability to learn from data. In many cases, the method yields significantly better results than any other form of machine learning. Deep learning is also key to many innovations, such as today’s early-stage self-driving cars; highly scalable speech, image and video analysis; advanced text processing for language translation or to create dialogue systems such as those on mobile phones; and next-level medical diagnostics.

The company was founded in May 2015 by Prof. Dr. Roland Memisevic, Dr. Ingo Bax, Dr. Florian Hoppe and Dr. Christian Thurau, and it has been publicly active since May 2016. TwentyBN has two offices, one in Berlin, one in Toronto, to serve the European and North American markets. TwentyBN’s Canadian office is home to a research lab which is committed to further advancing current research.
