JUVE Awards: Raue is Law Firm of the Year for Energy Law

Raue has been named “Law Firm of the Year” by legal market publisher JUVE in the category “Energy Law” at the 17th JUVE Awards. This is the fourth time that the energy team has won a JUVE award – no other law firm has succeeded in doing so before.

JUVE writes in its laudatory speech: “Litigation mandates are the trademark of Raue’s energy law practice – and more and more often young lawyers are at the forefront of this practice. Last summer, a Raue-Counsel entered the ring at the Federal Supreme Court to represent her client Lichtblick in economically significant equity capital interest proceedings. The Counsel delivered a performance that left an impression. Competitors who were on site still talk about it in the highest terms today. Her praise also goes to the lead partner Christian von Hammerstein, because he let a young lawyer take the big stage.

Von Hammerstein himself attracted attention in a similar lawsuit about the neutrality requirement in the awarding of concessions: In the dispute about the Berlin electricity concession, which has been ongoing since 2011, Raue took over the Vattenfall mandate from a competitor – and turned the proceedings around. The practice is also cleverly driving forward its staff expansion and internal networking. An antitrust lawyer who joined in the previous year complements the advice in the energy sector at an important interface, thus enabling Raue to provide its clients with more strategic advice”.

JUVE honors law firms and in-house teams for their dynamic development in the past twelve months as “Law Firm of the Year” or, respectively, “In-house Team of the Year”. This recognition follows an extensive research procedure conducted for the JUVE Handbook. This year the awards ceremony was held online as a virtual gala via juve-tv.de.
