Digital Energy Age – Raue LLP Advises enyway on Revolutionary Energy Market Platform

Raue LLP helped to establish the new internet company enyway. The company launched a new online marketplace on 16 November 2017, allowing consumers to buy clean electricity directly from the producer (peer-to-peer).

On www.enyway.com, consumers and producers of wind, solar, water and biomass-generated power engage in direct contact. Producers present themselves, their generation units, and their offerings on the marketplace. Consumers choose their preferred producer and directly conclude the contract for the supply of their household with that partner. enyway handles the supplier change and supports billing and payment processes.

Customers also have the opportunity to invest in solar and wind power plants of their chosen electricity vendor via the enyway platform.

The Hamburg-based company is currently active in the German market.

Raue LLP has for many years advised suppliers on the development of new business models regarding renewable energy and increasingly on the digital transformation of the energy market. The firm has advised enyway on all legal aspects of starting its business, including energy law, intellectual property, competition law, contract law, data protection law, and financial market regulation.
