GASAG Berliner Gaswerke AG has acquired 100 percent of shares in Geo-En Energy Technologies. The Berlin-based company plans and builds integral energy supply systems for heating, cooling and electricity. The shares were sold by the company’s founders and finance investors. Raue LLP advised GASAG during the transaction.
Established in 2007, Geo-En focuses on hybrid energy supply systems. By integrating any type of ambient heat, using heat and power cogeneration or solar energy and integrating thermal storage Geo-En is able to provide solutions to serve apartment houses as well as local heat networks. Geo-En has so far realised more than 50 major facilities between 50 kW and 1 MW heating power. Key part of the systems is a specifically developed control technology, which allows to integrate the components and optimise operation.
Energy related services are an important growth sector for GASAG. GASAG recently bundled its energy services in a new subsidiary, the GASAG Solutions Plus GmbH (article here) and acquired a major interest in Leipzig-based Provedo GmbH (article here). Raue LLP also advised GASAG on these two transactions.
